Parktown North Local Grill
The Local Grill founded in 2002, has kept to its ethos of procuring, ageing and serving South Africa’s finest beef.
Specialising in both Grain-fed and Grass-fed beef, this “Steakhouse” offers a diverse range of menu items sourced “field to fork” and encourages tours to the kitchen and meat locker where the owners share their passion for beef.
The other “Local” favorites include, venison, grilled calamari and seared salmon. Although this is a beef speciality restaurant, vegetarians are welcome. Families are welcome and the kids club is testimony to the popularity amongst the younger generation.
The restaurant boasts a “living“ wine list with monthly showcasing of estates at outstanding value and wine tastings on request.
The Parktown North Local Grill has a private “wine-room” that accommodates up to 12 people, this room adjoins a demonstration test kitchen.
Beef appreciation courses are hosted in this area and spontaneous cook-offs and tastings are commonplace.
